Rain – A Five Sentence Fiction

Rain - A Five Sentence Fiction

We laughed at the people scattering, as rain, began to fall as if the rain was the poison to their day. To us, it was an elixir, a potion that made us stronger. We danced, skipping through the empty park, with nothing but our love as a companion. Giddy moments, that would never leave my heart, even now that she was long gone, her body taken by old age, leaving me with nothing but the memories of her gentle laughter. And the scent of rain in her hair.

Illusion – A Flash Fiction

Illusion - A Flash Fiction

No matter how many times I have tried to explain, you don’t hear me. You only see the reflection of who you think I am, a far cry from the true me, my essence. Even when you speak about me to others, it is hard for me to hear, the irritation impossible to hide, for you share not whom I am, but whom you would like me to be. Can you even hear me? While you share your stories, I sit here, waiting for the moment to escape, the moment where I am free to be seen as myself.

This Flash Fiction  was inspired by the Daily Prompt “Leftovers” and the Flash Fiction Prompt “Irritation“. It is also inspired by a conversation I had with my daughter. Often times we do not see the ones we love as the person they truly are, but through our own imperfections and flaws, or as we want them to be, missing out on discovering the true beauty of the person standing in front of us.

The Office – A Flash Fiction

The Office

Closing the door behind her, she took a deep breath.
The irritation of the last few hours had no place here, in her sanctuary, that was reserved for the pleasure of words, and the creation of stories.
In this room, nothing mattered, but the dance of her fingers on the keyboard, and the voices of her characters. She relaxed, leaving behind all burden, away from this safe, gentle place somewhere between reality and imagination. Sitting at her desk, for the first time today, she smiled, as she re-entered the worlds of her own making.

Restriction – A Haiku

Restriction

the walls of a box
confined in societies
norm, are a prison

This post is inspired by the Daily Prompt “Envelope Pushers”.

I live this thought to the fullest, not falling into any norm – not on purpose, as a rebellion, but because I follow what is true to my heart.

I am an openly practicing Hedge Witch, I live by the principles of Law of Attraction, my kids have never stepped one foot in a school, but I am not a housewife, I run our business from at home, and well, duh – I write. I am the only one in my family that moved out-of-town – I took it even further, I moved to a different continent.

There is freedom in no one expecting any more (with a few sad exceptions), that I follow the norm. Norm is not what you get with me. Honesty, love, passion, empathy, a willingness to allow you to share your story with me, to release your burden – yes, I can give you that. Norm is not one of them. I am having too much fun outside of the box.

Trip Of A Lifetime – A Five Sentence Flash

Trip Of A Lifetime - A Five Sentence Flash

“I don’t think I have ever been so sick in my life!”
“But it was worth it, wasn’t it?”
“Tons bugs, hugs spiders, and snakes, and that was just around the hotel room, so what do you think?”
“I would have love to have gone in your place, this trip of a lifetime.”
“Well, I am just glad, I survived the flight.”
