Title: Outline Your Novel In Thirty Minutes: Discover Your Story DNA
Author: Alicia Rasley
Publisher: Amazon Digital Services
Rating: 2/5 Stars
While the questions in this book, which are designed for the reader to discover parts of their story, are interesting and have merit, the book is just that – a list of nine questions. There is no actual instruction on how to outline an entire novel, which of course would not be possible in thirty minutes anyway. I did not expect much to begin with, but at least some additional information on how to place the information the reader developed into an actual outline would have been nice. Don’t waste your time with this book, there are plenty of other, more in-depth volumes on the same subject that are much more helpful.

Title: Marked
Author: Rebecca Zanetti
Release Date: Dec. 22nd 2014
Publisher: eKensington
Rating: 5/5 Stars
This book was my introduction to Rebecca Zanetti, and I enjoyed it tremendously. While not familiar with the world that was already established, I had no problem getting acquainted with it, which to me is a sign of a good fantasy Author, as she managed to write a book within a series that can stand on its own. Her characters where interesting and three-dimensional, no flat villains, and no predictable heroes, instead a great flowing story, that centered around a young, Janie and the dark Zane.
Hot enough to make this a steamy romance, while action driven enough to make this an interesting plot, I truly enjoyed this book. In fact, I could not stop reading.
This book was provided to me, free of charge via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
In my hands lays the power of fate, the fate of all in our society.
A move of my pen, and someone lives or dies, falls in love or will never find the connection they search for.
I did not ask for this job, just as much as those who’s lives I control did not ask for me to be in charge.
While some might enjoy this power, I abhor the role of the Seer.
Watching those whom used to be my friends play at the edge of the shore, I sit at my desk alone, grasping for the glimmer of hope, that one day, a new Seer would be chosen and my torture would end.

The glimmer of hope in her eyes was startling and surprising, a sparkle I had longed to see for such a long time.
There she was, filled with positive thoughts, young and innocent, expecting the world to bend to her needs, not in a selfish way, but in a comforting sense.
She still believed, even after all that she had been through, that nothing was lost, no battles could not be won, and the good would always prevail.
Pushing the tears that welled inside of me, those darn tears, that I, a man of medicine should never show my patients, back, I took a deep breath.
Armed with many years of training, but no ability to give a longer live to this sweet little girl, I entered the room – the bearer of bad news.

This flash fiction was inspired the Five Sentence Flash Prompt “Glitter”.
It should have been me, laying there, the delicate tea-cup broken, as it fell out of my hand, before I hid the ground.
Not her, not the person filled with the most innocence I have ever witnessed, not the only one whom never would speak a word of ill, or hold a harsh thought in her heart.
I was supposed to be there this day. It was me, whose house had been broken into, who’s jewelry enticed those less fortunate, my choices leading up to the occurences of this tragic day.
Instead, I had left, this day as any other, leaving her behind asleep, defenseless, and now dead.
