Trip Of A Lifetime – A Five Sentence Flash

Trip Of A Lifetime - A Five Sentence Flash

“I don’t think I have ever been so sick in my life!”
“But it was worth it, wasn’t it?”
“Tons bugs, hugs spiders, and snakes, and that was just around the hotel room, so what do you think?”
“I would have love to have gone in your place, this trip of a lifetime.”
“Well, I am just glad, I survived the flight.”

Applause – A Flash Fiction

Applause - A Flash Fiction
There are many reasons to reach for a goal. Revenge, desire, passion, or a deep personal drive to give back to the people whom are in your care, are common.
But so is envy, and it was my motivator, my reasons to stay up late at night, to rehearse my lines with great care, and to end up on this stage.
I wanted, no – needed – her to feel the sting of envy, that she tried to cultivate within me all of her life.
Here, at the prime of my life, knowing that she was watching, boiling with envious rage within her, I smiled, fully embracing the applause directed toward me.
