Darkness – A Haiku

Haiku - Darkness

sometimes I pretend

dare to see happiness where

only pain prevails

Holding Onto Hope – A Poem

hope (1)

the sound of a fight
echoes through the dreary house
no longer refuge

from where can I steal
a little sense of peace, lost
somewhere in the dark

Restriction – A Haiku

Restriction - A Haiku

Restriction

the walls of a box
confined in societies
norm, are a prison

This post is inspired by the Daily Prompt “Envelope Pushers”.

I live this thought to the fullest, not falling into any norm – not on purpose, as a rebellion, but because I follow what is true to my heart.

I am an openly practicing Hedge Witch, I live by the principles of Law of Attraction, my kids have never stepped one foot in a school, but I am not a housewife, I run our business from at home, and well, duh – I write. I am the only one in my family that moved out-of-town – I took it even further, I moved to a different continent.

There is freedom in no one expecting any more (with a few sad exceptions), that I follow the norm. Norm is not what you get with me. Honesty, love, passion, empathy, a willingness to allow you to share your story with me, to release your burden – yes, I can give you that. Norm is not one of them. I am having too much fun outside of the box.

My Little Avalon

My Little Avalon

My Little Avalon

In the midst of darkness
you brought me here,
far off from despair
no sorrow to find us,
hidden from those who seek us harm

You are my refuge,
when troubled times tear at me
with such force, I seem to break
– a warm embrace
soothing my aching soul

Words of Power – A Haiku

Words of Power - A Haiku

Words Of Power

embracing kindness
whispered words of virtue
help to heal hidden scars
