A To Z Blogging Challenge: Tea Leaf Reading Dictionary “D”

A To Z BloggingChallenge-A Is For...Tea Leaf ReadingSymbols (4)

Hi, and welcome back to the A to Z Blogging Challenge – Tea Leaf Reading Symbol Dictionary! We are already at the letter D today, and I am having so much fun sharing this exciting info with you.  For some extra fun, I wanted to share with you a short list of other forms of divination, you might not have heard off. There are of course many more, but then this would become a little to long for a blog post. Enjoy!

ARITHMANCY or ARITHMOMANCY is an earlier form of NUMEROLOGY where divination is made through numbers and the number value of letters.

ASTRAGLOMANCY or ASTRAGYROMANCY is a form of divination by dice where the faces of the dice bear numbers and letters.

‘AUGURY
is the general term for the art of divination and is chiefly applied to interpretations of signs and omens.

AUSTROMANCY is divination by the study of the winds.

AXIOMANCY is divination through the observation of how an ax or hatchet quivers or points when driven into post.

BELOMANCY is an ancient form of divination performed by tossing or balancing arrows.

BIBLIOMANCY involves divination by books.

BOTANOMANCY is divination from burning tree branches and leaves.

CAPNOMANCY is the study of smoke rising from a fire.

CATOPTROMANCY is an early form of crystal gazing that utilizes a mirror turned to the moon to catch moonbeams.

CAUSIMOMANCY is divination from the behavior of objects placed in a fire.

But now, let’s get back to our Tea Leaf Reading Symbols.

Letter D:

Dagger: this symbols has been interpreted to both mean favors from a friend as well as potential danger, with its distance from the person read for the deciding factor of how worrisome  that danger actually is. I personally find that in a reading this symbol should be considered a weapon and therefore as a warning, but not necessarily a physical danger.

Deer: a bad symbol for business ventures – the path you are taking mostly likely will lead to failure, adjustments are in order to calm the situation, or better yet a complete change in course direction

Dogs: this symbol should be read while considering what dogs mean to the person read for. If they are a dog person, this is generally a favorable sign, if they are afraid of dogs, than this speaks of their inner-most fears, fears that need to be overcome.

Best Toys for Active Dogs - ActiveDogToys.comDove: a lucky symbol, with a very personal message attached, comfort and hope, and for the business person this is a very fortunate omen. Look out for more guidance, maybe even from someone who has passed on, or is too far away to reach you in person. A messenger bird with a happy meaning.

Dragon: great and sudden changes with an element of disruption and possible danger

10 Minute Mugs

The following post is a guest post by Elizabeth, the Author, and Creator of the 10-Minute Mugs course.

Raise your hand if you like coffee? How about tea? Hot chocolate? Me, I’m a hot chocolate girl. In contrast, my husband can down a pot of coffee and 9:00 at night and go to bed shortly after. If you took a poll of your city, your state, or even your country, odds are good that a vast majority of the people would report that they drink some kind of beverage from a mug.

Not only am I a hot chocolate fan, I’m also obsessed with crafts. These two interests led me to one of my favorite kinds of projects: mug-making. It started with dotted Sharpie mugs. I made a mug for my sister-in-law and she loved it.

10 Minute Mugs

It turns out other people like mug crafts, too. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be a consensus for how to make Sharpie mugs and thus was born The Ultimate Guide to Sharpie Mugs, a guide for others who wanted to create these mugs but didn’t know how.

And then came Marbled Nail Polish Mugs and How to Transfer a Design to Mugs. It was mug madness!

Design Taped On Mugs

Out of this mug madness was born 10-Minute Mugs, an eBook devoted to quick and easy mugs that you can make yourself. I know, you’ve got to be thinking, “Can there even be any more ways to make mugs?”. Why yes, yes there can be. 10-Minute Mugs includes tutorials, tips, tricks, and designs to help you create beautiful mugs in a flash. While some of the mugs have been featured on my blog, there are three mugs that are exclusive to the eBook (and honestly, out of all the mugs I have made, I think these  are my favorites.)

Glitter Mugs

Gold Spray Painted Mugs

Metallic Spray Painted Mugs

And if you’re not a designer or don’t have perfect penmanship? Never fear! 10-Minute Mugs has 18 downloadable patterns for your next DIY mug.

At Her Service – A Flash Fiction

At Her Service - A Flash Fiction

It did not matter which offerings I brought, nothing was good enough. No feathers, no wealth, no special items, that I knew where usually to her liking, tamed the voracious appetite for more, and for drawing blood. My hands bore witness of that fact, leaving me tethered, with stinging reminders of my shortcomings. Carefully, I stepped further back, waiting for another attack, launched out of a dark corner. Ah, the pleasures of being owned by a cat!

Dream Job

Dream Job

The artfully draped gossamer shimmered gently in the soft light of the white floor lamps, breathing a delicate atmosphere into the large room, which only a few hours earlier had been overwhelmingly large and bare. The preparations for the big day where in full swing, a few hours more, and another happy couple would leave an event organized by Liz. Lord, how she loved her job, the new beginnings created in her presence, the ambiance she provided as a backdrop, the creativity that overflowed in every aspect of her work.

Her dream job.
Turning toward a tiny noise, not louder than a gentle sigh, she froze, as the enthusiastic leaps of a young child, ended the artistry with a bounce, the devastating plummet of fabric chaotically swirling the room with colorful destruction. Frozen, she stood, as did everyone in the room, except the beautiful, wild child, giggling in the gentle colored embrace, in which she was the center of, and Liz could not help but smile.

This post was inspired by “Three Word Wednesday”, which instructed us to include the words “plummet, gossamer and devastate” this week.

Time to De-Stress! Make Your Own Facial Masks!

Business, school, and work – often leaves us stressed out, overwhelmed and in dire need of a break. Add kids and a husband to that mix and a few minutes (or a couple of hours) of alone-time are a dream come true, even if a seldom realized one. So every once in a while it is essential to allow yourself a few moments for some pampering activities!

Treating ourselves with  natural beauty treatments, which are so easy and fun,  would be wonderful for a girl’s night (or afternoon)  in.

De-stressing Facial Masks

How about some simple facial masks?

Here two examples of simple, yet effective (and most importantly) de-stressing facial mask you can create at home. Use only the best ingredients available, of course organic.

Simply Delicious Olive-oil-Sugar Peeling Mask

$30 off Sun Basket You will need:
3 Tablespoons of high-quality olive oil
2 tablespoons of sugar (unbleached, raw vegan sugar is the best for this)
Mix and GENTLY rub into your face in circular motion, careful not to rub too hard. A gentle, all over rub is efficient, careful to avoid the eyes and the lips. Thoroughly rinse your face, to remove the peeling mask. Dry your face by padding, not rubbing the skin.

Cool-Calm Yogurt-Lemon-Honey Mask

You will need

6 Tablespoons of organic greek yogurt
the juice of a lemon (again organic)
1 teaspoon of raw honey

Shop ALOHA OnlineApply mask leave it on 20 to 30 minutes (not longer). Rinse thoroughly with warm – not hot! – water. This mask is a  good remedy for dry skin, as the honey and yogurt are hydrating.
