Book Review: Delicious DIY Coffee Recipes That Will Impress and Bring Out the Home Barista In Everyone: The Home Barista Series: Volume 1 (Delicious DIY Coffee Recipes … In Everyone:The Home Barista Series)

Author: Cut To The Chase Media

Genre: Cooking, Beverages

Rating: 4/5 Stars

The unusual recipes absolutely sparked by attention, especially with ingredients like Nutella and KitKat, which – for a chocolate lover and coffee addict like me, is like a dream come true.
At 22 recipes, this book is way too short, though. From a cookbook, I expect a few more recipes. Also, while some people might like the fact that it has no fluff, it does not even contain any information about the Author, and barely an introduction.

Overall the concept and the recipes are great, and well thought through, but because it was so short, I was somewhat disappointed.

Cooking Light Way To Cook Vegetarian – A Review

Cooking Light Way To Cook Vegetarian - A Review

A very visual cookbook that is easy enough to follow along for a novice cook, but interesting enough to bring flavors into the kitchen of a more experienced home-cook. I really enjoyed the fact that it went into details of preparing fresh ingredients, and gives hints and tricks on how to make a few steps of the cooking process easier. It is not filled with exotic ingredients, which I very much appreciate, as so many cookbooks make the mistake of having ingredients needed, that are hard to come by, or are very expensive. No, this book is accessible for anyone who has access to a decent grocery store. I also enjoyed that it went a little more detailed into the preparations of Tofu and Tempeh, both aspects of the vegetarian kitchen, I have not dared to work with. I am not a fan of processed soy products, or processed anything, so even with these two I was weary. This book, with its many well done pictures, and easy explanations, might actually make me try out cooking with these two ingredients.
Overall, I highly recommend this volume, especially to anyone who is new to vegetarian cooking. Note that while this is a vegetarian cookbook, there are some vegan recipes included, and specially marked as such.

(P.S. This book was not provided to me via the publisher, but rather a book I purchased myself)

If you are buying this book for the recipes, you are in for a treat. Everything from sweet to savory is covered in this volume, bringing you healthy additions to your table, that are easy to prepare, and to not need ingredients most of us do not usually have in our pantry.

If you are expecting the revelation on how to live with less sugar, you are not going to find anything new. While the information given in the beginning of the book, on the health implications of too much sugar, are true, they are not more than the common person already knows. But this is mainly a cookbook, and in that regard, it has much to offer. From Muesli to Smoothies, light meals to full dinners ( I like the Ribollita, but that is because I love Italian food! – So comforting!) There are vegetarian meal ideas, and those for carnivores, some that take a little more skill, and others that anyone could master.

I am impressed by the variety of recipes, and would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who wants to eat healthy, but not always the standard fair.

My daughter is vegetarian, I am not. With a large family that embodies the most different needs when it comes to each individuals diets, I need something to help me be creative. This book was my  hope bringing some light to the tunnel.

For the beginner in the vegan/vegetarian circus of food preparation, this book starts with an extensive section on common vegan ingredients and potential substitutes. Helpful little hints, such as what one can use as egg replacement, add to the value of this volume.

One of the most important aspects of a good cookbook, and even more so with a Vegan or Vegetarian one, is to see if I can get all of the ingredients at a normal supermarket, or at least an upscale market, such as Wholes Food, without having to hunt for every ingredient. In this case, I was happy say that it is possible to make these recipes at home – nothing drives me more crazy then to having to order something for our meals, and then wasting the rest, because it is needed in about 2 recipes, a pinch at a time.

With this more accessible recipe collection, it is uncomplicated to create healthy and great meals, which is important, in today’s busy lives.

Overall I recommend this book for anyone who wants to try to eat less meat and meat products, to a full time vegan who is looking for options.
