Reading Tea Leaves and Coffee – Letter U

We have been talking about reading tea leaves for almost a month now.

But how does one read coffee?

Reading coffee grounds is the same concept than reading tea leaves. You drink the coffee and read the grounds left on the
bottom of the cup. Reading coffee cream is different. while you can now use any colorful or decorated cup, with a handle,
and are no longer in need of a saucer, I prefer to use two specific tools – a special cup, I dedicate only for the purpose
of reading coffee cream, and  a teaspoon that is only used for the purpose of placing the “Wolke”, the cream cloud into the  center of the cup.
The process is rather simple. Gently place the heavy cream into the center of the cup that is filled with black coffee and DO NOT STIR! Allow the cloud take shape in front of your eyes, and notices where it travels, does it travel closer to the handle (representing you and now), or does it travel farther away from the handle (representing others, and another time). If the cloud travels in a clockwise direction, your reading concerns your future, counter-clockwise it represents the past.

The symbols are the same as for tea leaf reading, and should be read as such. For those of you who are vegan or can not
use dairy in their diet, you can substitute full-fat coconut cream for the heavy cream. (this is not the time to think
about your diet).

Now it is time for our symbols.

Letter U:

An Ugly Face: Unpleasant news

Umbrella: Depends on if it is open or closed: An open umbrella speaks literally about bad weather while a close umbrella speaks about a situation – this situation is not pleasant, but can be avoided if you pay attention beginning right now.

Unicorn: You might find yourself in the middle of unwanted drama

Urn: Check your health – unless there is a symbol indicating another person, then check their health

Interesting, isn’t it?

To brew the coffee for coffee cream readings, I prefer to use the over the cup cone dripping method. It is individual
and gives me time to clear my mind of distractions before reading the cream.

My favorite cone is the Oishii Pour Over Coffee Dripper. I love the fact that it does not allow any grounds to come through, despite the fact that it does not need an extra paper filter. So it is good for the reduction of garbage and makes a smooth cup of coffee. It is easy to clean – just rinse and wipe – and is small enough to store out of the way. Very stable, it sits comfortably upon a regular size mug as well as a wide mouthed, smaller cup. Great for the fresh cup of coffee in the morning, or to take with you in an office, that does not have a coffee machine (there is supposed be to such a thing, I have heard – the horror).

Peppermint And Predictions – A To Z Blogging Challenge Post Tea Leaf Reading Symbol Dictionary

Good to have you back for another day of Tea Leaf Reading Symbol Dictionary – A To Z Blogging Challenge Eddition. As usual I do not just talk about the symbols but want to also mention other interesting tea facts. I predict that you will find these just as interesting as I do.

My favorite herbal tea is Peppermint tea. It’s leaves, when brewed loose are a perfect match for Tea Leaf Reading. But it also holds plenty of health benefits, that make this tea not only delicious but an important staple in anyone’s household. Simply place one heaping  spoonful of the dried leaves into your favorite cup, fill with hot water, and strain (unless you are using the leaves for a reading) after 6 minutes. Sweeten to taste.

Letter P:

Padlock: Is it open? That is a positive sign, it means a happy surprise. Closed? Be careful and take precautions.

Palace: Wealth and abundance are on the way

Palm Trees: A symbol of increased wealth, fortune and honor. There might even be some fame and recognition involved.

Parrots: It looks like you might have some travel outside of the country on the horizon. But there could also be some gossip surrounding you that is not all favorable, so be on the watch out for rumors.

Pears: You are receiving good news, and are able to advance in life. One pear means an addition to the family of some kind.

Piano: You are making the most out of what is given to you, and that is a good thing. Keep on doing that.

Pig: A successful symbol specifically in the realm of gardening, agriculture and related fields. There might be an unexpected amount of money coming your way.

Potato: Patience is needed.

Purse: Watch your belongings. Warning of possible burglary or theft.

Letter O

Oaktree: symbol of strength and endurance. A powerful and positive symbol that speaks of strong relationships, wealth, and achievement. A prosper and abundant marriage

Oil-Can: You are worried and concerned about something

Onions: Hidden beneath some layers are secrets that need to be revealed. These secrets will bring some discomfort and sorrow.

Organ: Not a symbol that reads well on its own. Musicians will find this a positive sign, as it speaks of achievement in their field.

Owl: This is an unfortunate symbol. Do not expect any positive movement forward at this time. If the owl is flying grief is involved. Someone is speaking ill behind your back. If you are asking about a upcoming change, this symbol is a warning to be careful as you proceed.

Ox: Your house and home is filled with abundance and domestic bliss.

A to Z Blogging Challenge: Tea Leaf Reading Dictionary “J”

Hi and welcome back!

Today, I want to share with you a Chai Tea recipe that is my favorite. While chai tea is widely available in tea bags, there is nothing better than the home made variety. Also, you can adjust the ratio of the ingredients to fit your needs, once you got a feel for the base recipe.

Chai Tea Recipe: (for one pot of tea)

6 cups of water

4 cups of milk

6 cardamon seeds

4 pieces of cloves

1 tablespoon of fennel seeds

1 tablespoon of anise

1 cinnamon stick

½ teaspoon of freshly minced ginger

4 tablespoons of your favorite loose black tea

6 tablespoons of honey

Place all ingredients, except milk and tea into a pot and slowly heat it to simmer. Allow it to simmer for 10 minutes. Add the milk and softly simmer the mixture for another 5 minutes. Add the black tea, allow it to come to a boil, remove from heat, and allow the mixture to steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Strain through a “screen”, and sweeten as desired. Serve hot.

A wonderful variety of this tea (which I prefer for breakfast), is to make it with green tea. Follow the same instructions, but allow the green tea to steep for 3 minutes only.

Time to get back to the Tea Leaf Reading Dictionary! Today’s letter J was not very easy to compile. There happens to be not too many symbols that begin with this letter. Here are the two that I found:

Letter J:

Jam: this symbol cautions you not to waste your resources and time. Don’t make any over the top decisions or spending ventures. Be conservative for the time being.

Jug: A good sign that indicated health, and overall well-being. Also a financial good omen.

Tea Leaf Reading Symbols “I”: An April A to Z Blogging Challenge Post

Hi and welcome back to another week of the A to Z Challenge. While green and black tea are widely known, it’s cousin the white tea sometimes gets ignored. Letter I:

Inkpot: A symbol of a state of positive acceptance. Potential symbol for pregnancy.

Iris: A positive flower, this symbol speaks of hope and upcoming good times

Iron: any obstacle occurring in the near future will be overcome in a quick manner

Ivy: This plant is a symbol of patience and long-lasting endeavor. A steady path filled with long lasting prosperity and deep, meaningful friendship are an additional meaning of this.

A To Z Blogging Challenge: Tea Leaf Reading Dictionary “D”

Hi, and welcome back to the A to Z Blogging Challenge – Tea Leaf Reading Symbol Dictionary! We are already at the letter D today, and I am having so much fun sharing this exciting info with you.  For some extra fun, I wanted to share with you a short list of other forms of divination, you might not have heard off. There are of course many more, but then this would become a little to long for a blog post. Enjoy!

ARITHMANCY or ARITHMOMANCY is an earlier form of NUMEROLOGY where divination is made through numbers and the number value of letters.

ASTRAGLOMANCY or ASTRAGYROMANCY is a form of divination by dice where the faces of the dice bear numbers and letters.


‘AUGURY is the general term for the art of divination and is chiefly applied to interpretations of signs and omens.

AUSTROMANCY is divination by the study of the winds.

AXIOMANCY is divination through the observation of how an ax or hatchet quivers or points when driven into post.

BELOMANCY is an ancient form of divination performed by tossing or balancing arrows.

BIBLIOMANCY involves divination by books.

BOTANOMANCY is divination from burning tree branches and leaves.

CAPNOMANCY is the study of smoke rising from a fire.

CATOPTROMANCY is an early form of crystal gazing that utilizes a mirror turned to the moon to catch moonbeams.

CAUSIMOMANCY is divination from the behavior of objects placed in a fire.

 

But now, let’s get back to our Tea Leaf Reading Symbols.

Letter D:

Dagger: this symbols has been interpreted to both mean favors from a friend as well as potential danger, with its distance from the person read for the deciding factor of how worrisome  that danger actually is. I personally find that in a reading this symbol should be considered a weapon and therefore as a warning, but not necessarily a physical danger.

Deer: a bad symbol for business ventures – the path you are taking mostly likely will lead to failure, adjustments are in order to calm the situation, or better yet a complete change in course direction

Dogs: this symbol should be read while considering what dogs mean to the person read for. If they are a dog person, this is generally a favorable sign, if they are afraid of dogs, than this speaks of their inner-most fears, fears that need to be overcome.

Dove: a lucky symbol, with a very personal message attached, comfort and hope, and for the business person this is a very fortunate omen. Look out for more guidance, maybe even from someone who has passed on, or is too far away to reach you in person. A messenger bird with a happy meaning.

Dragon: great and sudden changes with an element of disruption and possible danger

Welcome to the A to Z Challenge for April 2016! My theme for this year is Tea Leaf Reading Symbol Dictionary – yes, I know this is a mouthful. I find tea a wonderfully fascinating beverage that is a part of many aspects of my life for me – healing, enjoyment, divination, meditation and ritual. I hope you enjoy taking this journey with me, as I bring to you a little bit of information I hope you can find useful.

Tea Leaf Reading Symbol Dictionary:

Letter A:

Abbey: An abbey is a favorable sign, declaring a freedom from anxiety and a peace of mind.  You are questions, or to get out of sticky situation, then this symbol will mean that help is on its way.

Acorn: Acorns are (as are the trees from which they derive from) a symbol of strength and perseverance. While your endeavor might grow slow and steady, rather than in a quick suggestion, it will be a lasting success from which you and people in the future can benefit from. Because Acorns are the seeds from which the tree will spring from, it also means that you are still in the beginning stages of your adventure, so be patient, and steady.

Aircraft: If it pointing toward you, then an unexpected news or an unexpected travel is on the horizon, If it points away from you, then there is likely to be no favorable movement in the situation, proceed with caution

Anchor: An anchor is an overall positive sign. You are in the right place at the right time at this very moment, exactly where you are supposed to be. Take a close look around you to find opportunities and hidden opportunities in your present situation

Angel: Angel are the messengers of love and joy. Always embrace the Angel symbol. If you see this symbol showing up in many locations besides this reading, you should be more open to guidance, the Universe is  trying to get your attention.

Apes: someone has a hidden agenda in your life. Watch out for those who are manipulative and deceitful.

Apples: apples are great sign to see in your tea leaf readings. They point to steady health, happiness and fortune. The apple contains within the pentacle, the symbol of magick, making it a powerful fruit that despite its general appearance holds a powerful punch. So do not be deceived by what might look like a simple occurrence, it might make the difference you have been looking for.

Apple tree:  apple trees indicate a chance for the better.

Arc: a very protective symbol. It signifies the love protection and care of someone who is really deeply connected with you. You are cared for.

Arrow: be aware of the arrows direction in your reading. Unpleasant news might be on their way – usually from the direction the arrow is pointing at

Axe: You have the power to overcome any difficulties that stand in your way if you are willing to put in the effort needed.

Throughout this series, I will be teaching you a little bit at a time about how to do a reading, what is important to remember when receiving a reading, and just general information about tea, and the related subjects. I hope you will stay with me throughout the entire journey.
