Sweet On You by Laura Drake – A Review

Sweet On You - A Review

Title: Sweet On You

Author: Laura Drake

Genre: Romance

Publisher: Forever

Release Date: August 26th, 2014

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

An impressive book that reaches deeper into a subject matter, rarely dealt with in romance novels: PTSD. I was expecting a much more light-hearted book, but was rewarded instead with an emotional, raw story, with characters that had depth, and a “real” story. Very relatable for anyone who has either dealt with PTSD themselves, or knows someone who does, and how hard it is to get back to a relative normal life, this romance has lots of heart.
Two “damaged” people, who are in need to re-invent themselves, find a way to help each other, even if that was not how they originally expected to have it happen. With just the right amount of humor, the Author managed to make this deep subject matter, just light enough to keep it getting from being depressing, but at the same time takes it serious enough to honor its severity and importance.
I was not sure if I was going to like this book, as it is not my usual style of romance, but I am glad I read it, and will be looking for more books from this Author.
