In An Instant – A Five Sentence Flash Fiction

In An Instant - Five Sentence Flash Fiction

My heart aches with such heaviness, that the burden seems to drive me into the ground, making it a miracle, that I can stand upright, while a river of tears streams silently from my cold face onto the baren ground.

I am not alone, but feel more separated from any human being, than ever before, more tears falling, just falling.

One breath had changed everything, one decision you made, a decision that cost me the love of my life, the father of my unborn child.

You should have waited just a few minutes longer, the distance to our home  so short, from the intersection that took you away from me, barely a mile away.

A red light, a crash, and in an instant you where gone.
