I love finding Debut Novels that rock. “What It Takes” by Kathryn Ascher is one of these brilliant debut works that make me want for more.
This romance centers around Kelsey Morgan, a small-town girl with the ambition to make it big in Los Angeles. That premise alone invites trouble, and trouble there is plenty. Mostly in the romance department.
The build up between the two main characters was spaced perfectly, the background well enough established without disrupting the flow. Only the end of the book felt slightly rushed, the one negative aspect of the book.
New Adult romances and romance in general work within a certain formula, and Kathryn Ascher has used that formula to her advantage. A great read for a lazy summer day!
I am very much looking forward to reading more about this new Author. Wonderful debut!
